Exempted from the Base

Clearly, there is a need to be able to raise missional funds in the local church without experiencing an increase in budgets. By choosing to make an exception for funds raised for missions, our churches can – and should – support the developments they enjoy – without raising budgets. The following exclusions will be honored in AY10-11:

Offerings that specifically raise funds for mission as related to the World Evangelism Fund (e.g. Easter offering, Faith Promise, and Thanksgiving offering), the funds must be submitted in the AY to qualify to the exception
Ten Percent Mission Specials: mission offerings that raise funds for specific needs, connecting donors (churches, groups, or individuals) and ministry
Specific approved Mission Specials include those for:

Won’t Raise your Budgets

In order to fund the mission structure of the church in the most efficient way possible, our denominational leadership voted to exempt all contributions specifically for WEF (for example: Easter, Faith Promise, and Thanksgiving) and Ten Percent Mission Specials from the calculation of global mission contributions. That is, taking an offering for WEF and other, approved Mission Specials will not raise the allocation amount (or budget) of a local church.
